What is your favorite quote?
“Someday, after mastering the winds, the waves, the tides and gravity, we shall harness for God the energies of love, and then, for a second time in the history of the world, humanity * will have discovered fire.”
― Pierre Teilhard de Chardin
“Everybody is a genius, but if you judge a fish on its ability to climb a tree, it will spend its whole life thinking it is stupid.” Albert Einstein
If you could spend one day anywhere in the world where would it be? It’s hard for me to give one definitive answer. It would be extremely fulfilling and awe-inspiring to spend a day either helping orphaned baby orangutans in Sri Lanka or at an elephant orphanage in Africa. I would also love to have a significant encounter with a whale in the wild. It would also be unimaginably fantastic to spend a day, shadowing the Dalai Lama.
What is your favourite season and why? Without a doubt my favourite season is summer. Firstly one isn’t contracted by the cold. In the summer everything comes alive. Everyone looks so beautiful in the summer–tanned and kissed by the sun. I love wearing summer dresses and skirts and having bare feet. It so easy to be healthy with the abundance of local and fresh produce and especially all the fruit–strawberries, raspberries, cherries, blueberries, plums, peaches etc. There is concerts, dancing, camping, fires, kayaking…and best of all swimming in natural bodies of water. Om Shanti
What is your morning ritual? Wake up, a moment of gratitude for my bed, for being alive and for the ease of my breath. Upon arising, 2 glasses of warm lemon water, followed by a caffeinated beverage, and some gentle yoga. Then it’s time to go outside and be in nature. I walk to and along the beach. I go sit in a tree for a short while and connect to the suchness of the tree. After tree-bonding time, I engage in some aerobic activity, jogging to my meditation spot–a bench overlooking the ocean. Here I do 5-10 min of pranayama and then mindfulness meditation. When I am finished, I walk home, have breakfast and attend to the unique demands of each day.
What is your guilty pleasure? Dark chocolate.
What do you like most about the Victoria Yoga Conference? A wonderful opportunity to gather, to grow, to learn, to be exposed to new ideas on many levels, to meet and connect with amazing people, to have Fun, to be touched and inspired.
