How do you recharge your batteries?
I love to get outside with my dogs in order to change my perspective on a daily basis. For more intensive recharging I try to go on fun road trips with my husband in order to take a break from work and the daily routine.
What is your morning ritual?
I love to wake up early when everything is quiet and do three things- walk my dogs in silence, do a warm oil massage before taking a shower, and spend a few minutes at my altar doing a short practice of mantra and daily prayer in order to remember what my intentions are before I head into the activity of my day. If I can do these three things without rushing I can handle whatever comes up once I leave the house!
What is your evening ritual?
Turning off all screens, lighting candles, taking a warm bath, and getting into bed early with a book.
What is your favorite season and why?
I love all the seasons for the unique energies they bring to my life, but my absolute favourite time of year is the autumn. I love the mystery and the sombre beauty of Fall, with its shortening days and promise of Winter to come. And I am so deeply nourished by the way that it calls me back to myself and empowers the subtle practices that are a big part of my personal sadhana….
What do you like most about the Victoria Yoga Conference?
I love how eclectic the Victoria Conference is with workshops related to Yoga, Business, Health and more. I also love that it is right in the heart of my favourite city in the world and all the events are under one roof!
I am first and foremost a student on this path, and I practice because yoga has helped me to fall in love with life, as it truly is. I teach because I believe in the power of practice to heal and to transform, and I have seen that this power can be accessed by anyone, no matter where they are starting from. You can expect my classes to be infused with my love of story, my respect for the natural world, and my delight in the humble beauty of everyday.
