Teacher Feature: Christine Price Clark

What do you like most about the Victoria Yoga Conference?
That it’s in Victoria, one of the best places in Canada. AND that it gathers a diverse group of inspiring, creative and passionate teachers and voices all in one potent place.

What or who inspires you?   My girls and husband; unconditional love; generosity; forgiveness; fiction, poetry, and a thousand true stories of the strength of the human spirit; notes, texts, and signs that come at just the right time; a well-crafted scent; a bold, colourful outfit or expression of style worn with confidence and ease; music that moves your body and heart immediately.

Many people choose a word for their year. Do you have a word for 2017? Open.

How do you recharge your batteries? Kitchen dance parties with my husband and kids, read poetry, move slowly and quietly, study something all over again with fresh eyes and increased openness, laugh, rest, dress up.

Describe your personal yoga practice. Rarely all at once, but I’m currently enjoying seasonally influenced slow-flow asana, mantra, and simple breathing practices.

What advice would you give your younger self? Don’t play to the audience. Wear more colour.

Christine’s classes are an artful blend of strong, rhythmic asana and purposeful, creative sequencing. She is known as a warm and honest teacher who shares relevant teachings gleaned from the ancient and the everyday.
