Why are you excited/happy/committed to sharing your wisdom at the 2020 Victoria Yoga Conference?
As a first time Ambassador for the VYC2020, I am so excited to share my love for Yoga with other yogis: novices and experts this new year! I am looking forward to share thoughts about movement, breath, mindfulness, meditation and the impact of those modalities have one one’s life! I cant wait to attend workshops and classes and to be present for the serious and curious that will join us that weekend! If you are coming by yourself and feel a little bit overwhelmed, please don’t hesitate to reach out to any one of us for help!
The theme of the 2020 conference is ‘love is medicine‘. What does this mean to you?
Love is the source that connects us all: Love is within all of US! We are born with that beautiful light: a little bundle love and joy! We are still this filled with this high vibration: we just need to remember! For some of us, it is buried a little deeper then others, yet, I do believe that yoga and community can heal us. Coming back to self love, self awareness; being curious in our vulnerability and self discovery. Coming back to who we are so we can better connect to the love around us and within us.
How do you build community?
Being in a place of service, giving back to my community is extremely important to me and it is my way to build community. Giving time to projects and organizations is my way to practice my yoga off the mat. I have volunteered for a non-profit yoga studio in Vancouver in the past (Karma Teachers) and I am now teaching Yoga Chair to Seniors through the West Coast Recreational Programs on Vancouver Island. Passionate about service work to Third World Countries, I have organized a Yoga Retreat with Service work to the community in Nicaragua in 2019 and I wish to do more in the future.
What is your morning ritual?
I turn my phone off every night around 7-830pm and I only turn it back on after my morning ritual of (in that order!): oil pulling, meditation and breakfast.
How do you want to be remembered?
Welcoming, caring, warm, open and loving.
Do you have a favourite quote you’d like to share?
”People will forget what you said or did, but they will never forget how you made them feel” from Angela Mandalou. And I try my best to act accordingly.
