Victoria Yoga Conference Bio

Created and founded by event producer Carolyne Taylor in 2013, the Victoria Yoga Conference is an annual event held in Victoria, BC. Host to 500+ attendees and 30+ Wellness Market exhibitors, the VYC continues to grow and flourish as more teachers, exhibitors, and participants gather for the sixth annual conference February 9 to 11, 2018. At the heart of the event is the idea of community, which welcomes people of all ages and yoga abilities for a weekend of connection and discovery. There is a Wellness Market full of local entrepreneurs and exhibitors, a variety of workshops, and spirit-lifting dance parties. A strong entrepreneurial component is present throughout the conference, as there the business series and teacher talk shops offered are designed to assist studio owners and teachers on how to market themselves and make a business of their passion. The VYC truly strives to provide something for the curious to the serious.

About the Founder

Her vision of creativity, community, and action is present in each of the events that she creates and produces within Victoria. Carolyne’s ability to create spaces for people to share their passions generates the spark that draws community together.

The VYC Philosophy

We believe in entrepreneurial spirit, the practice of yoga, and the power of community. Our goal is to provide something for the curious to the serious: whether you practice yoga regularly or trying it for the first time. The VYC believes in the spirit of giving back, and offers scholarship opportunities for conference passes. We strive to provide a space where inspiration is shared and explored. When people are living their passion they are the most powerful versions of themselves. The Yoga Conference can be more than a weekend event – it is a place to nourish your soul, move your body, and stimulate your mind. You can come for one day or the full weekend, you can attend the community classes and enjoy the Wellness Market, or spend the entire weekend doing everything but yoga: you have the freedom to choose.

Who We Attract

Attendees from all over Vancouver Island, the BC lower mainland, Alberta, and the Western United States travel to Victoria to take part in the annual VYC conference. All levels classes and diverse workshops draw in people of all ages, from seniors to university students.
