Why are you excited/happy/committed to sharing your wisdom at the 2020 Victoria Yoga Conference?
It’s been my pleasure to be involved with the VYC for my 3rd year, and be part of the team that brings together community.
Whether you’re just exploring what yoga is about, or you’re a seasoned student, the community at the Victoria Yoga Conference
is supportive, and offers a variety of instructors and styles to explore and enjoy. I look forward to seeing and connecting with you there!
The theme of the 2020 conference is ‘love is medicine‘. What does this mean to you?
What are you listening to right now?

How do you nourish yourself?
By challenging myself to find balance in my routine, and when I need to go harder, ensuring I am taking in rest, good food, and good company.
How do you stand for love?
By living and guiding with compassion and respect. If we can shift our perspective to see that everyone is someones family member, daughter, sister, aunt, child, parent etc. We can practice having our actions to be respectful and kind, we are living and standing for love.
Do you have favourite mantras or words of nourishment you return to to sooth or motivate yourself?
Do the best you can until you know better. Then when you know better, do better. – Maya Angelo
Winding down… what is your evening ritual?
My evening rituals includes mind dumping (empty all the busyness from the day!) and incorporating some restful restorative postures before bed. For great tips to a better sleep, check our my VYC Article – “Bedtime Tips to Nourish and Restore the Body and Mind”, and see if any of these would be of benefit to your evening routine!
Livi’s journey with Yoga started at a young age, when her mother sought out alternative health methods to assist challenges she grew through as a child. Some of her first introductions to meditation and breathing techniques were led by her, and that she still holds dear in her own practice today. She has had the pleasure of many guides and teachers in her life since, gently guiding her to be of service in holistic offerings.
Livi’s path lead her to opening Twisted Willow Studio in 2014, when she took on instruction as a 200hr Yoga Instructor, from Red Door School of Yoga in Lantzville, British Columbia.
Since 2014, she has had the pleasure of growing, as has the offerings in the Alberni Valley. Currently she is finalizing both my 500Hr Ayurveda Yoga Training, and BCRPA Personal Fitness Training: While offering Indian Head Massage, Reflexology, and Botanical creations.
When leading community classes Livi looks to create intimate and safe space for individuals to make connection between the many layers of our being and begin to work through the lessons on our path in small pieces: nourishing their self-growth, and compassion for themselves and others.
