Christine Price-Clark

Mother, teacher, and mentor, Christine has been teaching for 13+ years; a journey that began in New York and landed her (back) in Vancouver in 2006. Her classes reflect a passion and respect for both rhythmic, fluid movement, and strong, focused attention. Pairing precision in alignment instruction with artful language, she works to create a space where you are both safe to feel, and supported to grow. She is regarded as a teacher who speaks openly and honestly about the full spectrum of the human experience; able to offer relevant teachings from both the ancient and the everyday.

I love the Victoria Yoga Conference because we truly get to experience some of the most passionate and skilled teachers, artists and luminaries who all happen to live right here.

What quality do you admire most in others and why?  Generosity.  Why generosity? Because we need more of it; more distribution of kindness, compassion, even generosity in activism; in expressions of inclusivity, or the simple act of uninterrupted listening. Plus, it’s contagious.

What do you do to manage stress and anxiety?  Move my body; be it yoga, hip hop class,  or a living room dance party with my kids or on my own.

Many people choose a word for their year.  Do you have a word for 2018? Attention

What is one book have you read over and over again? The Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion

What is your guilty pleasure? Perfume, oils and all things scent.

What is your favorite season and why?  Summer. I am at my best when I am in my sensual body and summer for me supports this the most. The light, the warmth, swimming, sunned skin, flowers, light dresses, the farmers market with my family, late evening meals outdoors … I love it all.

What advice would you give your younger self? Trust yourself more.
