– Candace McKim –
What do you do to manage stress and anxiety? I use meditation, exercise and all aspects of yoga to manage stress and anxiety. I have been meditating since I was 13 years old and it is a non-negotiable part of my every day. Meaning that I meditate daily without fail. Also, I have always exercised. Yes, I practice yoga asana each day but I also add walking, jogging and many other activities through out my week. These practices along with all the other aspects of yoga: eating a plant-based diet (I have been vegetarian since I was 16), taking a lot of deep breaths, getting proper rest/sleep and having an Intuitive Coach are all essential for not only managing stress and anxiety but are pivotal in my ability to follow my intuition.
Do you have a personal philosophy you live by?I believe our intuition is our soul speaking to us! Therefore, it is important for us to not only get in tune with our Intuition, but to find ways to follow our inner guidance. My work has evolved over the years as I see so many of us choosing not to follow our intuition. We know intuitively that we need to change jobs, leave relationships, find a way to get unstuck, but it take a lot of courage and support to make those changes.
Many people choose a word for their year. Do you have a word for 2018? My word for 2018 is: Kickass. I was nicknamed Kickass in 2010 when I was taking Chakra Training with Anodea Judith. It has taken me all these years to want to connect with, embody and embrace KICKASS!!! When I choose a word for the year I also like to have a really clear definition of what that word fully means for me. Then I add the word and definition onto my vision board, add a song that represents it to my playlist, meditate on it daily, this allows me to fully cherish and embody my word!
What is your morning ritual? I begin and end each day with gratitude, prayer. I also add into my morning practice of journaling “6 Impossible Things Before Breakfast!” This is a great way to dream, visualize and manifest amazing (impossible) things into your life. I also connect with my affirmations when I’m doing my morning grooming and continue to come back to them all throughout the day when needed. “I love and accept myself.” “I am a loving person and am open to all possibilities.”
I offer more affirmations in my book Yogini’a Guide – Intuition Is A Choice.
