Many people choose a word for their year. Do you have a word for 2018? I have to pick just one!?! 🙂 I have 3 this year: Leadership / Fearlessness / Joy
What is one book have you read over and over again? Crazy Sexy Diet by Kriss Carr
What is your morning ritual? This is my favorite part of the day. My husband makes me an amazing cup of coffee while my 5 year old and 8 year old give me cuddles on the coach. One of my sons is super energetic and chatty in the morning and the other takes a while to wake up and needs lots of cuddles. We hang out, sip coffee, and chat about our days. Often we do a few mad libs while Gabe makes the kids breakfast. Some mornings I wake up first to meditate or exercise before coffee and cuddles, but I try best to always be home by 730 so I don’t have to rush that little bit of bliss. Some mornings I write in my 5 minute journal or read a page of a spiritualty book, but it comes and goes in waves. The coffee and cuddles is my spiritual practice most mornings. Being present and connecting with my family. 🙂
Do you have any healthy eating secrets? Eat a lot of real, wholesome plants foods and figure out what feels BEST in your body. Be present in your body before you eat so you can really listen to the cues your body is sending you.
What is your guilty pleasure? Poutine and Grey’s Anatomy.
How did you begin to practice yoga? I was living in Beijing and decided to try yoga. It was about 15 years ago and I had never taken a class in English, never mind Chinese! I barely understood a thing and was always whipping my head around to see what the teacher was up to. But even without the words I loved the way it made me feel in my body. The blur of a foreign language allowed me to zone out and tune in in a way I hadn’t experienced before. I was hooked!
What advice would you give your younger self? Don’t worry so much about what other’s think of you girl, you got this.
